Justin Lankutis, P.E.

Vice President, Electrical & Instrumentation

Justin has over 23 years of experience as an electrical engineer in the oil and natural gas industries, 14 years of which were spent in project engineering, project management and engineering management roles at Koch Industries and NuStar Energy.

Justin’s responsibilities at both of these major liquids refining, transportation and storage companies included the design, maintenance and 24-hour technical support of instrumentation, control and electrical systems at a variety of refinery, fractionator, terminal and pipeline facilities. He gained experience with large-scale SCADA and leak detection systems for remotely operated pipelines, developed and implemented NFPA 70E electrical safe work programs, performed electrical system design and reliability planning for low and medium voltage distribution systems, and designed/programmed local PLC/HMI based facility control systems.

During his 9 years at Kahuna, Justin has been the lead electrical engineer on the design and construction of multiple upstream and midstream facilities, including wellhead and gathering systems, metering and truck loading facilities, gas processing plants and compressor stations. He currently leads and oversees a team of experienced electrical and control system engineers, as well as licensed electrical inspectors and instrument technicians.

Justin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He has been a registered P.E. since 2001, and currently holds licenses in 11 states.
